Based on the films
that I’ve watched about the Ghost Scene, I believe they were all played well.
Mel Gibson and Ethan Hawke were the only films where the ghost actually comes
in contact with Hamlet. In the Branagh Version of the Hamlet, It was a more
dramatic effect, when it comes to the ghost scene. The lighting was very dark
and the music was very suspenseful. The ghost never comes in contact with
Hamlet.
If I were to interpret this scene through film
myself, I would lean to the more dramatic effect. I would like to have the
suspense music, the whisper of the ghost and the dark lighting. I would like to
leave my audience questioning themselves on to what is going to happen next. I would
like Hamlet to be exaggerated with his crying and his raspy voice. I would
blame Claudius for everything that happened, and everything that is going to
happen in the future.
